Description: The arcane mage is similar to the sorceress. Lots of direct damage spells. He differs in that he has a strong levelable mana shield that allows him to tank about twice as well. His invisibility skill allows him to wait and regen mana when he's in danger. Most of his skills also require a target enemy, while the sorceress can simply cast on an area. Ultimately the mage is a bit better at bossing, while the sorceress is a bit better at AOEs, but it's not too much of a difference.

  • Low HP
  • Mana intensive.
  • No party support skills whatsoever

Skills

Arcane Bolt

Hurls an Arcanic Bolt towards an enemy, dealing serious damage and stunning the opponent.

FORMULA: (750 x ability level) +(2x Intelligence)

MANA COSTS: Levels 1=15mp, 10=150mp, 20=300mp, 30=450mp, 40=600mp, 50=900mp, 60=1300mp, 70=1800mp, 80=2300mp, 90=3100mp, 100=4000mp

Review: Basically a carbon copy of the Sorceress' fireball. Though it costs less mana until very high levels. This is your bossing skill, and because the mana cost doesn't jump super high like fireball, you can invest in this a bit more if you want to. Otherwise stick with the aoes and the mana shield for fast leveling.

Magic Nova

A magical wave that deals damage to its target and surrounding units in one massive burst.

FORMULA: (500 x ability level) +(2x Intelligence)

MANA COSTS: Levels 1=15mp, 10=105mp, 20=305mp, 30=555mp, 40=905mp, 50=1000mp 60=1000mp

Review: Your typical frost nova, just with a different graphic. This is a solid aoe spell, although I would prefer the Sorceress' frozen death ability. The skill caps at level 60 and has a really cheap mana cost.

Mana Shield

A shield Surrounds the Arcane Mage, using up his Mana instead of his Health to take damage.

FORMULA:Damage Absorbed per Mana Point: 15+ (Ability level)

Review: This is the skill that makes the Arcane Mage great, and far less squishy than his counterparts. Although most mages get a form of mana shield at some point it usually isn't until higher levels, and it's capped at a measly 40 damage absorbed or 55 for the upgraded versions. This goes up to 100 damage per point of mana. Mana shield doesn't take armor into consideration when you take damage, but the Arcane mage has plenty of mana regen through intel, items, and passives. Put a point into this around levels 2-4 for some great tankiness since you don't have armor at that point anyway.

Arcanic Lightning

Lightning explodes from the mage and attacks all those within the area, electrocuting them with arcanic magic.

FORMULA: (750 x ability level) +(1.5x Intelligence)

MANA COSTS: Levels 1=20mp, 10=200mp, 20=400mp, 30=600mp, 40=900mp, 50=1250mp, 60=1750mp, 70=2250mp, 80=2750mp, 90=3400mp, 100=4000mp

Review: Seems to be pretty much the same as Magic Nova, except this does more base damage, less intelligence damage, and costs a bit more mana. It also levels all the way to 100. A good solid AOE ability.

Arcane Mage's Magic

The Mage is an adept of the arcane and divine magics of the realms. Through deep meditation and power lies the true strength of the Arcane Mage. Learn these skills to unlock the secrets within Arcanic Magic.

LEVEL 1:

BRILLIANCE

As the mage grows in power so does his mind, further increasing his brilliance. The effect causes the mage to regenerate mana over time.

PASSIVE: +15 Mana/ Second

Review: Exactly what the Mage needs to support his mana shield ability. with a level 1 mana shield 15 mana regen is the equivalent to 240 hp regen (assuming you had 0 armor), and it only gets more effective as this skill upgrades and you level the mana shield.

LEVEL 2:

COSMICUS

Explodes a ball of cosmic energy into the air damaging all nearby enemies. The blast will damage mana equal to the intelligence of the hero (excluding bonuses). This spell ignores spell immunity.

FORMULA: (Intelligence x2).

Cooldown: 12 seconds. Range: 450

Review: Short cooldown and no mana cost! great spammable ability. Though it's damage will be low at early levels.

LEVEL 3:

BRILLIANCE OF THE MAGE (brilliance upgrade)

The mind grows ever more, granting increased amounts of mana regeneration that mages have sought for years.

PASSIVE: +20 Mana/ Second

MAGIC SHIELD

Creates a barrier that stops spells from affecting a target unit.

Duration: 10 seconds. Mana Cost 500.

Review: I wish this lasted a bit longer. It's just too much of a pain to be casting every 10 seconds. Still can be useful against some of the hard hitting spells.

LEVEL 4:

SELF INVISIBILITY

Makes unit invisible

Duration: 25 seconds.

Review: Great ability to use in a pinch, or simply to avoid mobs who aren't worth your time.

LEVEL 5:

BRILLIANCE OF MAGIC (brilliance upgrade)

The knowledge of spells and magic have become easy for the mage, and his mind ever expands to reach his potential.

PASSIVE: +25 Mana/ Second

MAGIC STORM

Calls down arcanic lightning from the heavens to disintegrate enemies in 5 massive waves.

FORMULA: (Intelligence x2) per wave.

Mana Cost: 2500mp

Review: A reskinned blizzard. Does a good deal of damage, but it can also be a bit pricey at low levels. Just be careful you don't overuse it.

SUMMON ARCANE DRAGON

Summons the arcane dragon to fight for you. This powerful dragon is fused together by arcanic magic that holds realms together.

STATS: 80,000 hp, 2,000 mp, 70 armor, 3001 dmg, 500 range. (Elemental Dmg, Magical armor).

Heal: heals the life of a target friendly unit by 10,000 hp. Cooldown 10. mana cost 200.

MANA COST: 100mp

Review: This is the Arcane Mage's only summon, Hp and damage are pretty good, and his heal ability really shines when you need to turn off mana shield for a bit to regain mana. It has a few upgrades later as well. Unfortunately the heal never upgrades.

DISPEL MAGIC

Removes all buffs from enemy units in a target area while destroying mana. The spell also inflicts damage to enemy summons within the area.

Summon Damage: 8000, Mana Damage: 2000, Cooldown: 300 seconds.

Review: very long cooldown and limited usefulness. However, this is very useful for bosses that use antimagic shield. Should clear it right up.

LEVEL 6:

BRILLIANCE LVL 4 (brilliance upgrade)

Mages have always sought to control the full power of the Arcane. Few minds have ever conquered it.

PASSIVE: +50 Mana/ Second

SUMMON ETERNAL DRAGON (Arcane Dragon)

Summons the Eternal Dragon to do its master's bidding. The Eternal Dragon can heal enormous amounts of health to nearby allies, as well as kill all who oppose it.

STATS: 200,000 hp, 10,000 mp, 100 armor, 7001 dmg, 500 range. (Elemental Dmg, Magical armor).

Heal: heals the life of a target friendly unit by 10,000 hp. Cooldown 10. mana cost 200.

Mana Shield: Absorbs 40 points of damage per Mana Point

Critical Strike: 20% chance 2x damage.

Evasion: 30%

MANA COST: 2000mp

MULTI-SPELL

Exploding with arcanic power the mage can no blast away up to 3 opponents at once.

PASSIVE: Multishot 3

Review: Hitting more enemies is always fun.

LEVEL 7:

BRILLIANCE LVL 5 (brilliance upgrade)

The minds of few have tapped into the arcanic power that surrounds the mage. With a mind this brilliant, anything is possible.

PASSIVE: +75 Mana/ Second

DISPEL OF THE HERO (dispel magic upgrade)

Removes all buffs from enemy units in a target area while destroying mana. The spell also inflicts damage to enemy summons within the area.

Summon Damage: 40,000 Mana Damage: 4000 Cooldown: 20 seconds.

ARCANE ANGER

Creates energies around the Mage, causing damage to nearby enemies.

FORMULA: (Intelligence x4)

Mana Cost: 1375mp

Review: Warstomp like ability. Good instant damage that doesn't cost too much mana.

TELEPORTATION

Teleport to allied units and structures anywhere within Brenellia. If teleporting into Dungeons or Interiors you must target an allied Hero.

Cooldown: 45 seconds

Review: Real handy for moving around. especially if you die during a boss fight and your friend is still alive. This initial level has a lengthy cast time that disappears when it upgrades.

LEVEL 8:

BRILLIANCE OF THE EARTH (brilliance upgrade)

Studies of the most difficult spells have been mastered by the Arcane Mage with ease of his brilliance.

PASSIVE: +150 Mana/ Second

ULTIMATE DISPEL (dispel magic upgrade)

Removes all buffs from enemy units in a target area while destroying mana. The spell also inflicts damage to enemy summons within the area.

Summon Damage: 50,000 Mana Damage: 5000 Cooldown: 100 seconds.

MANA COST: 1000mp

ARCANE ARMAGEDDON

Calls forth an arcane armageddon to topple enemy units. This unleashes ultimate arcanic magic which penetrates through spell immunity, causing unimaginable intelligence damage.

FORMULA: Unknown

MANA COST: 7000mp

Review: This does really high damage, but it also has a very long casting time and a long cooldown. If used at the wrong time, this could get you killed. But if you're being overwhelmed with high level mobs, it can take them all out if you're high enough on mana/hp to take the hits.

LEVEL 9:

INVISIBILITY MASTERY (self invisibility upgrade)

Mastering the art of invisibility the Hero can now stay invisible for 60 seconds.

Duration: 60 seconds. Mana Cost: 500mp

DISPEL MASTERY (dispel magic upgrade)

Removes all buffs from enemy units in a target area while destroying mana. The spell also inflicts damage to enemy summons within the area.

Summon Damage: 100,000 Mana Damage: 10,000 Cooldown: 100 seconds.

MANA COST: 2000mp

LEVEL 10:

BRILLIANCE MASTERY (brilliance upgrade)

The arcanic brilliance knows no bounds to the mage's mind. Knowing all and untapping everything within his power, the mage's mana explodes with magic.

PASSIVE: +200 Mana/ Second

SUMMON ETERNAL CHAOS DRAGON (Arcane Dragon)

Summons the Eternal Chaos Dragon. This dragon possesses enormous amounts of power.

STATS: 600,000 hp. 50,000 mp. 200 armor. 15,001 dmg. 500 range. (Elemental Dmg, Magical armor).

Heal: heals the life of a target friendly unit by 10,000 hp. Cooldown 10. mana cost 200.

Mana Shield: Absorbs 40 points of damage per Mana Point

Critical Strike: 20% chance 2x damage.

Evasion: 30%

MANA COST: 2000mp

TELEPORTATION MASTERY (teleportation upgrade)

Instantly teleport to allied units and structures anywhere within Brenallia. If teleporting into dungeons or interiors, you must target an allied hero.

Cooldown: 20 seconds. Mana Cost: 2250mana

Take a level 400 Arcane Mage with Love's Tear to his Evolution Location, On the Northern Mountains, next to the observatory outside his house. He Transforms into the Raegnarok.
